  The Pharaoh Hound

The Pharaoh Hound is a medium size dog. Reddish brown with white markings.The coat is short and from soft to some what harsh. The Pharaoh Hound is an alert, happy, devoted, talkactive, contact seeking, stubborn, courious, independent dog that often smiles!

They love to be in the center of attention and are good with children. The Pharaoh Hound is a born actor!(watch out, they will make a fool out of you!) Everyone should know that a Pharaoh Hound loves to sleep on the couch or bed before getting one.. They are very clean, cleaning themself often and do not like to get dirty. The Pharaoh Hound is a noble dog through and through. Be positive when you teach something new and remember to praise a lot.

 They should be socialized at a young age and should be given opportunity to experience different surroundings and events. The Pharaoh Hound matures slowly. They are very playful also as adults. Bitches usully come in season rather late, at age of 1-2 years. The Pharaoh Hound loves to hunt. One should try to control this instinct, as early as at 10 - 12 weeks of age. It makes life a lot easier later on..

The Pharaoh Hound can be aloof with strangers. This means that they take their times to make up their minds about people first. If you are not interesting to them they will ignore you. A Pharaoh Hound should not be agressive. It is easy to fall in love with a Pharaoh Hound but this is not a breed for everyone.. It is important to do a thorough research about the breed before deciding to get one.

The Pharaoh Hound needs exercise and activities, they love to move.. It is not a dog that likes to lay on the couch in a beautiful pose all day long. If you are well aware of what you are getting yourself into, you will have a dog that is reliable and true to you for all itīs life...
